Frequently Asked Questions
General CBD Questions
What is CBD oil?
CBD oil is an extracted oil that is harvested from the hemp plant. CBD is a molecule called a cannabinoid. There are at least 113 cannabinoids in the hemp plant. Cannabinoids have plenty of medicinal properties, and CBD is among the most well-researched and most well known.
The hemp plant and the marijuana plant are often mistaken for one another. For this reason, CBD and THC are also sometimes confused for each other. THC is also a cannabinoid – it is the molecule in the marijuana plant that creates a ‘high’ or euphoric sensation. But when harvested from the hemp plant instead, we get a CBD rich oil that has only trace amounts of THC – not nearly enough to make you feel high.
While CBD is also present in the marijuana plant, it is available in much higher quantities in the hemp plant, making it a more ideal source for hemp oil used as a dietary supplement.
CBD has been researched for its ability to support dozens of systems and body functions, including:
– Sleep
– Mood
– Appetite
– Muscle formation
– Cardiovascular function and blood pressure
– Digestion and metabolism
– Reproduction and fertility
– Bone health and growth
– Immune response
– Inflammation (including neuroinflammation)
– Temperature regulation
– Stress (including anxiety)
– Learning and memory
– Pain (acute and chronic pain)
– Pleasure/reward
– Motor control
– Liver function
– Immune system function
– Skin and nerve function
Despite many clinical trials and seemingly endless anecdotal evidence that CBD is helpful in support a healthy body, the FDA has not yet regulated the CBD industry. Currently, CBD is not considered a medicine. It is considered to be a dietary supplement.
CBD oil is available in many forms such as tinctures, gel capsules, rubs, gummies, and teas. You can also buy CBD in 3 forms: full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolates.
Full spectrum CBD – Full spectrum CBD contains all cannabinoids and terpenes found in the hemp plant
Broad spectrum CBD – Broad spectrum CBD contains all cannabinoids and terpenes found in the hemp plant except for THC
Isolate – Isolate CBD contains only CBD, and no other cannabinoids or terpenes.
While isolate and broad spectrum CBD are effective, due to the entourage effect, broad spectrum CBD is proven to be more very effective in supporting a number of systems.
What does CBD oil do?
CBD oil interacts with our Endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system, or ECS, is a series of receptors that are located throughout our bodies. These receptors are designed to work with endocannabinoids – molecules that our bodies naturally make – that are very similar to the cannabinoids found in cannabis plants.
CBD is a cannabinoid dietary supplement that works similarly to how vitamin and mineral supplements work. CBD saturates the receptors in our ECS and helps the system work more efficiently.
The ECS got its name from the word “cannabinoid,” which comes from cannabis, and “endo,” short for endogenous, which means that something naturally occurring in the body. Thus far, researchers have identified two key endocannabinoids: anandamide (AEA) and 2-arachidonoylglyerol (2-AG). These help the body maintain homeostasis in various areas, and the body produces them as needed. These endocannabinoids, and the ECS generally, are active whether or not you use cannabis.
Researchers are still learning about the ECS and how it works. But we do know it is responsible for regulating an array of functions and processes, including:
– Sleep
– Mood
– Appetite
– Digestion
– Memory
– Reproduction and fertility
– Immune response
– Inflammation (including neuroinflammation)
– Temperature regulation
– Stress (including anxiety)
– Pain
– Pleasure/reward
– Motor control
The ECS is responsible for ensuring everything is operating as it should. Think of it this way: if your body was a computer, the brain might be the Motherboard, while the ECS is the CPU (central processing unit). If something isn’t quite right, the ECS steps in to get it back on track. This can include your overheating, imbalance hormones, fatigue, hunger, anxiety, or a buildup of something in the bloodstream. When it’s operating optimally, the ECS is precise and efficient, administering targeted aid to the areas that need it.
What is CBN (Cannabinol)?
Cannabinoids are the different chemical compounds found in cannabis plants, and there are more than 100 of them. They have a big family. Like any big family, some of the members are more popular than others.
In the cannabinoid family, the two most popular cousins are THC and CBD. THC is well-known for the effect it has on people. It’s the compound that has psychoactive effects, giving people that “high” feeling. Think of THC as the extreme extrovert in the family. It never met a person it couldn’t affect.
CBD is a close second to THC in popularity, but it’s known for its soothing effects. People like to spend time with CBD because CBD eases their aches and pains, making them feel good without the euphoria that accompanies THC.
While lots of people know and love CBD and THC, they may be less familiar with their other cannabinoid cousins. Some people may even wish for a cannabinoid option that is somewhere between CBD’s mellow effects and THC’s fun-loving adventures. This is where CBN comes in!
CBN is actually the oldest of the cannabinoid cousins, in that it was discovered first. But CBN is actually generated by the breakdown of THC. If THC is the fun cousin, and CBD is the mellow cousin, CBN is somewhere in the middle. It benefits from having a family resemblance to both of them. It has some of THC’s psychoactive properties and some of CBD’s soothing effects, but is less potent than both. So if you’ve ever tried CBD or THC and wished they were just a little more like the other, CBN may be what you desire.
Research studies suggest multiple potential health-related uses and benefits of CBN, but most of this research was done on animals. Therefore, we have limited official confirmation on the uses of CBN.
What is CBG (Cannabigerol)?
CBG is often referred to as the ‘Mother’ of all cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are molecules found in the cannabis family of plants; there are over 100 of them, including CBD and THC.
CBG is called the mother cannabinoid because it is the naturally-occurring chemical precursor from which all other cannabinoids are synthesized.
Cannabigerol, or CBG, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, like CBD, that does not produce the typical ‘high’ or euphoric feeling that is commonly associated with THC use. And, similar to CBD, CBG can help support your body’s endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for maintaining many of our body’s most important systems.
Over the past several years, there have been a number of medical and scientific research publications that have been pointing to CBG as being a possible future pharmaceutical used in applications for anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer uses.
What is the Entourage Effect?
If you’ve ever watched a major event like the Oscars, you’ll notice celebrities rarely roll up without a posse. Also known as an “entourage,” this group is kind of like a support network, helping the star look and perform their best on the red carpet. The same concept applies to CBD in a phenomenon known as the “entourage effect.”
In this context, CBD is the VIP, and its assistants are the various flavonoids, terpenes, cannabinoids, and other phytochemicals found in the cannabis plant. Basically, you get more benefits from CBD when you ingest it along with other cannabis compounds. This is because CBD and its squad work better as a team rather than on their own.
What is the endocannabinoid system (ECS)?
CBD oil interacts with our Endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system, or ECS, is a series of receptors that are located throughout our bodies. These receptors are designed to work with endocannabinoids – molecules that our bodies naturally make – that are very similar to the cannabinoids found in cannabis plants.

What’s the difference between hemp oil, hemp extract, and CBD oil?
CBD oil is extracted from the hemp plant and contains CBD. Hemp oil can be any oil that is extracted from the hemp plant and may or may not contain CBD. If the product you are purchasing does not say it contains CBD, it is a common plant oil with little to no active cannabinoids.
Hemp extract can be basic hemp oil with no active cannabinoids, or it could be a high-quality CBD oil. This is because CBD oil is, in fact, hemp extract. Hemp extract can also be used as a term meaning CBD oil when certain social media platforms or advertisements don’t allow use of the term ‘CBD.’ As with any time you purchase supplements, read the labels carefully and be sure the amount of CBD is clearly labeled.
Bespoke Extracts Company And Products Questions
Will Bespoke Products get me high? Do your products have THC in them?
Hemp CBD is sold legally only if it contains no more than 0.3% THC. This amount of THC has no psychoactive effect and cannot make you high.
Bespoke Extracts products will not and cannot make you high. Our full-spectrum CBD products may contain up to 0.3% THC.
Are Bespoke Extracts’ products organic?
While our products are not certified organic, we use as many organic ingredients as possible. We strive to be a fully organic supplement supplier.
How should I store my products?
CBD can be photosensitive, meaning prolonged exposure to light can weaken the potency of the active ingredients. Exposure to heat can also damage your product. For this reason, keep your CBD in the provided bottle, and store the bottle away from sources of heat and light. Many of our customers keep their bottles in the refrigerator or medicine cabinet. Keeping it on your nightstand will probably be fine, as long as it isn’t exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time.
How does the dropper work in my product?
Your dropper has markings to help you gauge how much product you are ingesting. Your dropper may not fill up all the way. That’s normal. If you need to take an entire dropper full, simply fill the dropper up to the halfway mark two times.
How many days will my CBD last?
This is fully dependent on how large a dose you are taking. Most of our products are designed to last 1-2 months.
How much CBD should I take?
Refer to the dosage information on each product to calculate your dosage. Generally speaking, you can figure out tincture your dosage this way:
1. Divide the total number of mg of CBD by the size of your dosage to calculate how many doses total are in your product.
Ex: If you take a 50mg dosage from a 2000mg CBD product, your product will contain 40 doses (2000 / 50 = 40)
2. Next, divide the total product size in ml by your preferred number of doses.
Ex: If your product size is 30ml, and you will take it over 40 doses, your dosage will be 3/4ml (or .75ml).
3. Simply fill your dropper using the established markings until you have taken the correct dosage.
We make recommendations about dosage amounts, but it is up to you to choose the amount of CBD you wish to take.
Do Bespoke Extracts’ products expire?
We do not include a specific expiration date on our products. However, it is expected that our products will maintain full potency for at least one year if kept in its original bottle in a cool, dark place.
How is your CBD extracted?
Our CBD is extracted using CO2 which produces the safest, most potent CBD available, maintains the integrity of the extract, and leaves no chemicals or toxins behind.
How is your CBD manufactured?
Our CBD is manufactured at an American facility that is FDA certified as a cGMP center. This means our manufacturing center meets the FDA’s certified good manufacturing practice standards.
Our hemp is grown in Kentucky on small-batch hemp farms. It is then shipped expediently to Florida where it is tested and processed. Before we extract our CBD, our hemp is double third-party tested. We test our products ourself for purity and quality. But, much like getting a second opinion from a doctor, we always send our hemp to a third-party lab for testing, so you can feel confident. All of our products are safe for your pet, no matter their size. Please remember, Bespoke’s products are NOT pharmaceuticals. They are organic, vegan, plant-based dietary supplements. Our products have only been studied for use with canines. If you plan to use our products with any other animal, we highly encourage you to speak to your veterinarian.

Unfortunately, the FDA prohibits us from discussing any diseases or medical conditions in conjunction with our products. We recommend you try for yourself!
Will Bespoke’s products get my pet high?
No. Our products will NOT and cannot get you or your pet high. CBD is non-psychoactive and our products contain no more than the legal limit of 0.3% THC.
Do you sell a CBD Isolate product?
No, Bespoke does not sell an isolate product.
What is the difference between a softgel and a tincture?
A softgel is a vegetable-based capsule that contains our CBD and other active ingredients. It is simple to take as you swallow them with water. They are also convenient to take on the go or pack for traveling.
Our tinctures are more versatile as they can be added to water or other beverages, or even added to smoothies and food. They can also be taken sublingually, which means you place your dosage under your tongue and hold it there for about a minute, allowing it to be absorbed through your glands. Some believe this is the most effective way to take CBD, but we encourage users to take CBD in whatever way makes them feel the most comfortable.
Are your products vegan?
Yes. Our products are 100% vegan with the exception of any product that contains honey.
Dosage And Side Effects
Is CBD ok to take everyday?
Absolutely. CBD is safe for most people to take everyday, even in higher doses. Because CBD mimics your body’s own endocannabinoids, it is a safe and natural dietary supplement.
CBD is typically very well-tolerated, but in rare cases, it can cause side effects such as dry mouth, nausea, diarrhea, reduced appetite, drowsiness, and fatigue. Occasionally, topical products may cause skin irritation. Discontinue use if this happens, or if you experience an increased heart rate.
Of course, there is potential for any dietary supplement to interact with prescription pharmaceuticals. It is important to speak to your doctor before adding CBD to your health regime, especially if you are being treated for another health condition.
To decrease the likelihood of experiencing any side effects of CBD, start with a low dose and slowly increase as needed. Always take CBD with food, not just coffee. CBD is fat-soluable, meaning it works best if it is ingested along with a natural dietary fat.
Often, adverse reactions from CBD products actually come from product additives, artificial ingredients, or toxic residue left over from a subpar extraction process. To avoid allergic reactions, purchase products with high-quality, all-natural ingredients.
Is it safe to take CBD during pregnancy?
We recommend that any pregnant or breastfeeding mother speak to their doctor about the safety and effectiveness of taking CBD.
Can I take CBD if I am on prescription medications?
We recommend that any person who is currently taking prescription medications speak to their doctor before adding CBD to their dietary routine, or before discontinuing the use of any medication.
What are the safety precautions when using CBD?

Will I fail a drug test if I use CBD oil?
The consumption of some hemp products may lead to a positive drug test for THC (tetrahydrocannabinol – the cannabinoid that produces the psychoactive effects of marijuana). While the legal limit for THC in a CBD product is 0.3% – not enough to cause a user to experience a ‘high’ – it is possible due to individual biochemical that THC could be detected in a drug test. While the risk is extremely low, if you are subject to drug testing, we strongly recommend you speak to your doctor before consuming any hemp products.

General Questions
Is CBD/hemp oil legal?
CBD oil is also known as hemp oil since the product itself is CBD oil that is extracted from the hemp plant. This oil does not contain THC like the marijuana plant does, and it does not have any psychoactive properties.
Because hemp oil is considered food-based, there are no restrictions on the production, sale, or consumption in the United States. CBD oil is legal in most countries around the world.

Can cannabis cause an allergic reaction?
Just like pollen from trees, grasses or weeds, marijuana pollen may trigger allergic reactions in a small number of people. This subject has not been studied in-depth, but there are scientific studies that point to allergic reactions caused by cannabis. If you choose a product that is GMP certified you minimize the risk of contamination with allergens. At Bespoke we offer the finest quality cannabis extracts on the market that are GMP certified. This means that our products are manufactured in a facility that ensures our products aren’t exposed to hazardous chemicals that can cause an allergic reaction.
What is a Certificate of Analysis?
A Certificate of Analysis, or COA, is not limited to the CBD industry. There are many products that require a COA before a product can be administered or sold. Having a COA shows that your products are made to a certain specification. In the case of CBD, the COA also indicates the number of cannabinoids found in each product.
In addition to cannabinoids, a CBD manufacturer’s Certificate of Analysis should show details about the levels of heavy metals, pesticides, solvents, and THC found in each individual batch of CBD. COAs are meant to keep customers safe and informed, but they also help emphasize quality. Our COAs prove that we are an industry leader in terms of product quality, safety, and consistency. To review our COA’s please click here.
Is Bespoke Extracts a publicly-traded company?
Yes, we are. Please see our Investor Relations section.
Questions About Hemp
What's the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?
People often confuse hemp and marijuana. Even though they come from the same family of plants (the Cannabis family), they are very different. The 2 most common members of the cannabis family are marijuana and cannabis sativa (hemp).
Marijuana is most commonly used to produce a psychoactive drug also known as weed or pot. Marijuana contains THC, the psychoactive chemical that makes you high. It also contains CBD and other phytocannabinoids, but only in trace amounts.
Hemp is a very durable, useful plant. It has been used for hundreds of years for many purposes. Fiber is the most well-known by-product and can be woven to make rope or fabric (for basket-making, clothing, and bags).
The hemp plant also allows us to produce three other important products: seed, pulp, and medicine. The pulp can be used to make paper, and can also be refined into fuel. The seed is suitable as a food product for both humans and animals. The oil from the seed can be used as a base for paints and varnishes. The medicine is a tincture or mixture of the sticky resin in the blossoms and leaves of the hemp plant, and is used for a variety of purposes.
